About Me
Mark has over twenty years Human Resources leadership experience from a variety of multi-national, values-driven organizations.
Mark led the HR Transformation program for Barclays’ Chief Operating Office (Operations and Technology) – a global group of over 60,000 colleagues. Mark’s work focused on Barclays’ 2025 inclusion ambitions, predominantly focused on increasing representation of senior women and colleagues from under-represented backgrounds.
Prior to leading DEI for COO, Mark was the Human Resources Director for COO in the Americas and also the Global HR Director for Consumer Banking and Payments COO. In this role Mark partnered with the respective Chief Operating Officers on all aspects of human capital strategy for technology and operations colleagues.
Before joining Barclays, Mark worked for Virgin Group for 8 years in operational leadership and Human Resources roles across the UK and Australia. Virgin afforded Mark the opportunity to experience multiple industries under a single brand – working in financial services, aviation, cable television, cell phone networks and health clubs.
Mark’s passion is culture, belonging and inclusive leadership, having worked across a variety of HR disciplines including leadership development, engagement, diversity, culture and performance management.
Mark studied English and French Business Law in Sheffield (UK) and Paris (France). Mark relocated to the USA from London in January 2018, with his husband and their beloved dachshund, Richmond.
